CECRAOHN is pleased to promote the annual Spring Symposium from COEH (Center for Occupational & Environmental Health).
This season's symposium topic will be "The Changing World of Work: How the Gig Economy Impacts Occupational Safety and Health". It will be held on May 6, 2016 (from 9am to 4pm) at the Brower Center in Berkeley, CA. Nurses may report 7.2 contact hours for this course.
The changing world of work will be explored – the new contingent workforce, widening income inequality, and changes in the labor movement – as they impact occupational safety and health. Specific California topics will be covered, including temporary and subcontracted workers in the state, farm workers as contingent workers, and the Cal/OSHA perspective about contingent workers. A panel will discuss the impact of the changing workforce from the perspective of a staffing agency, a union, and a sharing economy business, along with a discussion of contingent workers and workers' compensation.
