The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. is pleased to announce the AAOHN 2016 National Conference where the focus will be "Leading the Future: Endless Possibilities in Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing." A range of preconference, concurrent oral and poster presentation formats are being accepted. We welcome abstracts for presentations from occupational health nurses and others in all occupational health nursing competency categories: clinical practice, disability case management, health promotion/wellness/chronic condition management and coaching, management and leadership, safety & environmental, including regulation, research/evidence-based practice and professionalism, including professional development, plus inter-professional topics. Abstracts should demonstrate a direct link to the futuristic convention theme. Of particular interest are topics geared to the mid- or advanced levels of practice with focus on leading-edge subjects of interest to those working in any occupational health setting, including manufacturing, hospital/healthcare, government/military, education, etc., and applicable to both the OHN and the APRN. Abstracts of translational research, evidence-based clinical projects and leadership and policy initiatives are invited.
Guidelines for Submission: All abstracts must be submitted online. You must complete the online process that includes the abstract submission form (250 or less), biographical data form, and educational activity form. Abstracts can be submitted via the following links or by going to the AAOHN website at aaohn.org:

Workshop/Podium Presentation Abstract Deadline: The call for abstracts will close at 11:59 p.m. (Central Daylight Time) May 31, 2015. Abstracts that do not adhere to the guidelines and/or are received after the deadline will not be reviewed.
Poster Deadline: The call for poster abstracts will close December 15, 2015.
Selection Criteria: Abstracts will be reviewed by a selection committee and rated on the following criteria: Strength of Proposal (40%), Expertise of the Presenter (30%), Topic Relative to Educational Needs of AAOHN members (25%), and Marketability of Topic (5%). Abstracts that will score highest will be on topics that are forward-looking and innovative, address mid- and advanced-levels of practice and are appealing to a large number of conference attendees.
The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc's purpose is to provide evidence-based information related to occupational health nursing. Material presented at the national conference, available on the website, or provided in any printed materials must be of professional quality, evidence-based, and demonstrate an absence of proprietary or prejudicial/biased commentary. Anecdotal observations should be limited in their scope and not presented as proven fact. It is inappropriate to endorse or imply endorsement of any specific product or service.
