Catherine Powell, Executive Director of the Labor Archives, San Francisco State University
Sean Harley, President of Local 34 of the ILWU: International Longshore Workers Union
Objectives:
1. Review the labor history of the San Francisco Port, specifically during the 1930s
2. Discuss the development of the ILWU, in the context of both health and safety and the labor movement in the USA
3. Outline the current role of Local 34 in safeguarding health and safety for ILWU members
