Some of the AAOHN Foundation Scholarship deadlines have been extended to Saturday, February 1. Please take advantage of this extension opportunity before it is gone.
UPS Foundation ($2,500 each —six awards)
Purpose: To provide opportunities to further professional education for occupational and environmental health professionals. Must be a member of AAOHN to be eligible for a scholarship and currently enrolled in higher education academic studies.
Funds are to be applied to costs of tuition at a school of higher learning whether obtaining bachelors, masters or doctorate degrees.
MediTrax Leadership Institute and Conference ($2,300 —one award)
Purpose: Awarded to a licensed occupational and environmental health nurse, AAOHN member, dedicated to developing leadership skills to better provide for the health and safety of workers in the workplace and protect and ensure the longevity of the occupational health nursing profession.
Funds are to be applied to costs to attend the AAOHN Leadership Institute 2.5 day course, AAOHN National Conference registration and to offset travel and lodging expenses.
NIWI Grant (up to $3,000 —two awards)
Purpose: To support AAOHN member participation and learning about the legislative process, the AAOHN Foundation is providing two grants to the next session of the Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI). One is provided by SVMAOHN as they use funds to support their members and colleagues in AAOHN from dissolution of their chapter. The grants provided are to be used to offset the costs associated with attending NIWI.
The program provides participants the opportunity to learn from health policy experts, members of Congress and other government officials and to network with nurses from around the country and is sponsored by the Nursing Organizations Alliance, an umbrella group of national nursing organizations to which AAOHN is a member. The 2020 NIWI will be held March 23-25 at The Alexandrian in Alexandria, VA.
Funds are to be applied to costs to attend the NOA Nurse in Washington Internship registration, travel and lodging.
