Minimum Respiratory Requirements During Fire correction

Posted almost 6 years ago

  1. It is most important to make sure all of our members know about the current temporary standard, which needs to be implemented when the AQI related to PM 2.5ppm due to wildfire smoke is over 150.  Employers need to provide N95s and some training for voluntary use to any worker (indoor and outdoor worker) reasonably expected to be exposed for one or more hours, and who is not working in a climate controlled environment. There are some engineering and administrative controls needing to be considered as well, and a method of communication to workers.

Again, It also should be noted that this is a voluntary use of N95s when the Air Quality Index is 151 or higher and up until 500.
