This session will review the global public health threat of viral hepatitis and leaders from the World Hepatitis Alliance will share information about the NOHep Campaign, a global movement uniting governments, medical professionals, patients and the hepatitis community to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030.

Hill Briefing on Syringe Service Programs
On April 24, 2018, NVHR will co-host a briefing focused on the recommendations of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine as part of its proposed national strategy to eliminate hepatitis B and C. The April 24 briefing, co-hosted by NASTAD and Hep B United, will highlight the recommendation that states and federal agencies expand access to syringe services programs. Stay tuned for more information about speakers in the weeks to come.

Hepatitis C - It’s about More than Liver Disease
Join NVHR on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at 1 pm Eastern for a webinar on Hepatitis C – It’s about More than Liver Disease. The webinar will feature clinical and patient experts discussing the implications of hepatitis C outside the liver, known as extrahepatic manifestations. Our panelists include a hepatologist, a primary care provider, and 1-2 patients who will share their experiences.

Hear from Elizabeth Paukstis, NVHR’s Policy Director, and two of NVHR’s mini-grantees, Centerforce and Boston Health Care for the Homeless, during SYNChronicity 2018 (SYNC 2018): The National Conference on HIV, HCV, and LGBT Health. This conference will take place April 22-24, 2018 in Arlington, VA. Elizabeth and our mini-grantees will be a part of the HCV Health Track, which will feature three interactive sessions that address HCV treatment access, systems and policy opportunities, and synchronization of government and public health to eliminate HCV. Welcome our new Patient Summit Conference Coordinator, Sweatha Katta
Sweatha Katta has over 7 years of project and program management within healthcare. Previously, she was the project manager for a 4-year longitudinal study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) investigating the levels of physical activity within neighborhood parks across the country. While working for several non-profit cancer organizations, she organized committee meetings, summits, and panels to ensure cost, health disparities, prevention, survivorship, and value of care issues within the cancer care continuum were addressed with the latest research and data. She has a B.S. in Biology from Creighton University.
