Community Medical Centers is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinic Pediatrics for a nursing job in Fresno, California.

As an RN in our Pediatric Specialty Clinic the average day is anything but average and you will actively feel and see how your role impacts our mission and those we serve. You will join a dedicated team of professionals with a fervor for doing good work in our community by providing coordination of care across multiple specialties including nurses, physicians, social workers, dietitians, and more.

We serve patients in the following areas:

  • CCS Special Care Centers: Peds Cardiology, Peds Pulmonology, Peds & Adult Cystic Fibrosis, Peds Endocrinology, Peds Neurology, Peds Gastroenterology, Genetics – neurodevelopmental disorders, musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Specialty Clinics: Pediatric Surgery, Genetics, Peds Nephrology, Peds Rheumatology, Peds Hematology, Pediatric Allergy, Adult Congenital Heart

  • Specific training based on each specialty.
  • New hires are assigned a primary preceptor but will spend time with each roll in our clinic and often with multiple specialties so that they are able to see the similarities and differences between the specialties.

In a typical day at our Peds Specialty Clinics you will make a tremendous impact here.  With a diverse patient population and the variety of care that we provide, you will be challenged to grow your skills – and will be supported as you do.  Typical job duties might include:

  • Being a patient advocate
  • Assisting with scheduling
  • Collaborating with and assisting physicians
  • Medication management and teaching as well as refills and authorizations
  • Triage phone calls, referrals, and procedure authorizations
  • Becoming an expert in the subspecialty for which responsible

Our pediatric specialty clinic houses a number of pediatric specialties under one roof.  Many of our patients are complex and see multiple specialties.  This gives our staff members opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary care.  Our staff and providers work closely with the UCSF Pediatric residency program. 

Providers are often explaining the pathophysiology of common conditions to the residents and staff have the opportunity to partake. This provides an innovative and challenging environment in which you can expand your knowledge base of many pediatric and adolescent diagnoses and the ability to develop programs with the partnership of physicians, and various adjunct service lines. 

Qualifications:

Experience and education minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or health related field and two (2) years’ related experience.
  • Preferred: Bilingual-Spanish
  • Preferred: Peds experience

Licenses and certifications

  • RN, current State of California Registered Nurse license required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certification appropriate for area specialty
