Speakers
Michael L. Fischman, M.D., M.P.H., FACOEM is an occupational and environmental medicine physician and toxicologist, who has been the World-Wide Medical Director of Intel Corporation for over 30 years. He also serves as a consultant in these fields to other large organizations. Dr. Fischman is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Occupational, Environmental, and Climate Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of California San Francisco. He was also an elected member of the Board of Directors of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) from 2009 to 2015. Dr. Fischman received his medical degree at the University of Michigan and his master’s degree in public health, in environmental health sciences, from the University of California, Berkeley. He did his residency training in internal medicine and in occupational medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and is board-certified in both fields. Dr. Fischman is co-author of a textbook, Chemical Hazards of the Workplace, and the author or co-author of multiple book chapters on various topics including occupational cancer, building-associated illness, semiconductor manufacturing hazards, and risk communication.
